Anti-Knight Sandwich Sudoku Rule

Anti-Knight Sudoku + Sandwich Sudoku

Sandwich Sudoku is a Sudoku variant where you are presented with extra numbers outside of the grid aligning with the rows and columns. These numbers, called "sandwich clues", indicate the sum of the numbers between the 1's and 9's in that row or column.

Rules of Anti Knight Sudoku Puzzle
Place a digit from 1 to 9 into each of the empty cells so that each digit appears exactly once in each row, column and 3x3 outlined box. Additionally, no two identical digits can be a chess knight‘s move away from each other (as shown in the diagram).

Sandwich Sudoku is a Sudoku variant where you are presented with extra numbers outside of the grid aligning with the rows and columns. These numbers, called "sandwich clues", indicate the sum of the numbers between the 1's and 9's in that row or column.

For example, if a row has a sandwich clue of 10, then the sum of the numbers between the 1 and 9 in that row must be 10. This could be done with the following numbers: 2, 3, 5, or 1, 4, 5, or any other combination that adds up to 10.

Sandwich Sudoku puzzles can be solved using the same basic techniques as regular Sudoku puzzles, but the sandwich clues can provide additional information that can help you solve the puzzle more quickly.

Here are some tips for solving Sandwich Sudoku puzzles:

  • Look for sandwich clues that can help you fill in numbers in the grid. For example, if a row has a sandwich clue of 10 and there are only two empty squares in that row, then you know that the sum of the numbers in those two empty squares must be 10.

  • Use the sandwich clues to eliminate possibilities from the grid. For example, if a column has a sandwich clue of 15 and you know that one of the numbers in that column is 5, then you know that the other two numbers in that column must add up to 10. This means that you can eliminate any numbers from the grid that would make the sum of the other two numbers in that column greater than 10.

  • Don't be afraid to erase and try again. Sandwich Sudoku puzzles can be challenging, but they're also very rewarding to solve.
